I found this site from the Plesk forums. I was wondering if there was any instructions on how to install spam assassin and clamav. I setup the yum repos and they are showing up but I cannot seem to find what to next and what to install. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Chris Edwards

Sure theres a project page for it linked off the main page, but the short version, get all the SA and Clam addons installed:

yum install clamd razor-agents dcc pyzor

and then install qmail-scanner

yum install qmail-scanner

Forgive me for being dumber than the offspring of the village idiot and the tv weather-girl....I just wanted to confirm...

If i wanted to stop using DRWeb, and use ClamAV..

yum remove drweb
yum install clamd razor-agents dcc pyzor

and then install qmail-scanner

yum install qmail-scanner

job done?

Clamd all installed and working after I figured out that you needed to do the following after installation:

1) remove psa-spamassassin
2) run qmail-scanner-reconfigure

Many thanks Scott et al! Great site, and will sort out some company funds as a donation for ART.

psa-spamassassin messes with the other install and sometimes it just doesn't play nice. The only reason for using psa-spamassassin is to let your users control it from the CP.

I think Scott had an installation of squirlmail that let folks control their spam settings from there.

I've found that the end user typically doesn't mess around in the CP to much on my servers so I've got it set globally and that seems to work for everyone.

no... as psa-spamassassin is like a helper to spamassassin to allow users the ability to configure it per email account.
