Just installed the new kernel the kernel.x86_64 1:2.6.32.41-2.art and got this:

Code:
Resolving Dependencies
--> Running transaction check
---> Package kmod-dazuko.x86_64 0:2.3.9-5 set to be updated
--> Processing Dependency: kmod-dazuko-2.6.32.41-1.art.x86_64 >= 2.3.9-5 for package: kmod-dazuko
--> Finished Dependency Resolution
kmod-dazuko-2.3.9-5.x86_64 from asl-2.0 has depsolving problems
  --> Missing Dependency: kmod-dazuko-2.6.32.41-1.art.x86_64 >= 2.3.9-5 is needed by package kmod-dazuko-2.3.9-5.x86_64 (asl-2.0)
Error: Missing Dependency: kmod-dazuko-2.6.32.41-1.art.x86_64 >= 2.3.9-5 is needed by package kmod-dazuko-2.3.9-5.x86_64 (asl-2.0)
 You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
 You could try running: package-cleanup --problems
                        package-cleanup --dupes
                        rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest

So, i need to downgrade the kernel or just wait for the new kmod-dazuko module?

premierhosting: I am waiting the release of kmod-dazulo for the kernel.x86_64 1:2.6.32.41-3.art because the one that its right now on the repo its not compatible.

As i was typing this i found that the kernel kernel.x86_64 1:2.6.32.41-4.art its available.
I upgrade it and dazuko module its compatible and everything seems to be working fine.

Thanks Scott.

I tried this new kernel, but apparently something changed, because regular users cannot read network interface statistics anymore, which breaks vnstat. Is there some way to allow a specific user access to network interface statistics when running this new kernel? For now I have reverted to the previous ASL kernel.

I'd appreciate a changelog.

From EPEL. As a test trying to run 'vnstat --live' as any user other than root does not work with kernel-2.6.32.41-4.art, so I reverted to kernel-2.6.32.28-1.art.

Any updates on this? Should I open a support ticket for the fact that vnstat can't read the NIC stats as a non-root user? This is currently a blocker for us, but I'd love to run the ASL kernel inside Xen guests.

So is this kernel not stable for production? I've been avoiding it because of the complaint threads.
